Summer of love 1967
Summer of love 1967 The 1960?s were lots of things, from a war protest to a drugged out haze. Picture it, 1967, the summer of love. You?re doing Acid in the golden gate park with a group of like-minded Hippies who would rather make love then continue the Vietnam War. A few blocks away from the Park was the famous Intersection of Height Ashbury. That neighborhood became famous for the hippies it attracted. Low property values due to a proposed freeway meant cheap houses for sale or rent. The Greats, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and Grateful dead all live within blocks of the famous Intersection. The Scott McKenzie song "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)," written by John Phillips of The Mamas |
